Detroit, Michigan has a diverse population and dynamic musical history, beginning with the revival of the world-renowned Detroit Symphony Orchestra in 1918, and including a multitude of music genres, including classical, blues, jazz, gospel, R&B, rock & roll, pop, punk, soul, electronica and hip-hop.
