In multisport competitions, athletes race in a continuous series of stages (or ‘legs’) and quickly switch from one athletic discipline to another to achieve the fastest overall time.  Many are endurance, non-standard races that have developed from the traditional triathlon (swimming, cycling, running) and duathlon (running, cycling, running) and include varied aerobic activities such as cycling, running, kayaking and cross-country skiing.  ‘The Longest Day’ event held at New Zealand’s South Island ‘Coast to Coast’ race is considered the world champion competition of the non-standard multisport race.  If you’re interested in competing in multisport races, first step is training → *Multisport Training Guides  (*Zeester Media LLC may earn a small commission should you purchase a product or service directly through this link to Amazon.
