[su_dropcap]T[/su_dropcap]he Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a duty to protect the Internet and ensure it remains open and available to everyone as a platform for free speech and economic opportunity, yet newly appointed FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is threatening to reduce or eliminate the net neutrality protections put in place in 2015. Zola Zeester (along with many other users, websites, apps, and consumer advocacy groups) believes that changing the net neutrality rules currently in effect would be a big mistake because those FCC regulations help to assure the big internet service providers (cable and phone companies) are not allowed to independently determine how Americans experience the Internet by imposing limits or blocking access to content, altering speeds and efficiencies, and charging premium online service fees.
